About a certain Teddy Bear Backpack and Skinny Jean wearing rapper who’s name can no longer be mentioned

Ok so it’s a month after Kanye’s VMA episode and it’s still creeping up in the news. Granted, now it’s more like pictures of Kanye crying and Taylor Swift looking like America’s little angel, but it’s still there. Lately I have been giving this some thought…was what Kanye did really that bad?
Mr. West single-handedly ushered Swift to a whole new level of fame. Without his little speech, she would be another teen star who most of the world had never heard of.
Secondly, why are we so quick to jump on Kanye’s back? Wasn’t he saying what we were all really thinking? Yes, how he did it was quite rude, but the way it was told to me, you would have thought Kanye ripped the mic out of this girl’s hands and kicked her in the face. When I finally watched the incident on MTV I found myself asking…was that it?
Thirdly, everyone seemed to profit from ‘Ye’s outburst. It definitely raised the profile of the VMA’s. It also got Ms. Taylor talk show appearances she couldn’t have landed before. And-my favorite-it set up the whole big-bad-black-man-terrorizing-white-America scene, which, paired with labeling of our “Black President”, leaves me surprised that Marshall Law hasn’t been declared yet.
Frankly, in this day and age, if you are an entertainer and you can’t take a little heat from a 5’8 rapper who wears skinny jeans and teddy bear backpacks, you need to find another profession. I’m tired of hearing about how Kanye was so horrible, mainly because I can name several Hollywood events that are much worse, like Norbit, which was an insult to all our senses. So America can we stop making this about how ‘Ye is such a bad dude and more about what it should be… how MTV picks who “the best” video award goes to anyway?

You can’t be serious! Regardless of the fact of who should have “won” the award, regardless of the fact that this made Taylor Swift more popular what Kanye did was wrong……point blank. Take race and any other factor out the picture and you still see a grown ass man physically taking a mic from a little girl and ranting about something that had nothing to do with him. Let’s not make behavior like that ok just because he is a brother.

I am actually serious….yes what he did was wrong and mad rude… I’m not saying that it wasn’t….I’m just saying that it’s not as bad as people are making it to be…. I mean really he took the mic from her, wrong, rude…even a’holish… but really her life has gone on and I’m sick people turning Kanye into some like evil dude because of it…he’s a Jerk…it’s not a surprise… but I think because he’s a brother it’s turning into something it shouldn’t…frankly I’ve seen other artist do things that can be deemed way more a’holish then Kanye, and he,she, they didn’t get drop from a tour, or the President calls your a jerk, or a whole bunch of conservative commentaries say things like he should be lynch so on and so on… Sorry Albert…we might have to agree to disagree on this one bruh… I think folks are totally over reacting to something that wasn’t that bad….

Nourbese you are right! I had never heard of Taylor before the Kayne fiasco and it only took me a day or two to be flicking through the chile’s twit pics. I admit I did gasp and shake my head when I finally saw the awards but that was only because I was from Chicago and I was a little embarrassed for my city but if he was from… say… Memphis I would have laughed until the cows came home because it was quite entertaining AND low and behold people, he was right! My friend and I were talking about how every award show thrives to be memorable. If it wasn’t for the homie Ye’ showing his tush the lasting memory would have been lame Lil Mama and Jay-Z’s run in. Then Lil Mama would have been the big bad wolf and I honestly would rather Ye’ be it, I mean we all know he’s off the rocker anyway. So let him be him. Taylor should be forever grateful to Ke’ for he shun a special light her way, you’s a star now baby girl!
